A rail that's too long, mounted too high, or overloaded beyond its rating causes problems fast. Here's what we check on every install.
Allow roughly 20–25mm of rail length per hanging garment for shirts and jackets, closer to 30–35mm for bulky coats. We size rail length to your actual wardrobe, not a generic average.
Two rails set at roughly 900mm and 1,800mm from the floor let you double your hanging capacity for shirts and trousers, versus a single full-height rail better suited to long dresses and coats.
A pull-out rail needs the door fully open and roughly 400–500mm of unobstructed floor space in front to extend properly — we check door swing radius during survey.
A rail rated to 25kg can hold roughly 15–20 average garments; a wardrobe of heavy winter coats needs a higher-rated runner. We ask about your wardrobe contents before specifying.
